Rixx vs Manus

Rixx vs Manus: the agent that researches first

Both are AI agents that run jobs in the background. Rixx researches the live web by default, with no mode to pick, and cites every web fact in the answer and in the file it hands back.

Jobs to try

  • Cited answer: What changed in the EU AI Act obligations for general-purpose AI models this year? Cite the official sources.
  • Deep research report: Write a cited report on the Indian quick-commerce market: size, growth, the top five players, unit economics and regulation.
  • Wide research table: Compare 12 AI note-taking apps: price, free plan, languages, integrations and data retention. One cited table.
  • Analyse your data: Here is our sales export (CSV). Clean it, find the top 10 accounts by margin and chart monthly revenue by region.
  • Make the file: Turn this research into a 10-slide deck in the consulting theme with an Excel backup of every number.

What you get back

  • Cited answer in seconds: A quick question gets a researched answer with inline citations you can click and check.
  • Wide research, merged: Big lists are split across parallel agents and merged into one cited table or report.
  • Cited report: A deep research job ends in a Word or PDF report with each claim attributed where it is made.
  • Editable deck and workbook: PowerPoint with native charts and Excel with working formulas, sources kept inside.

Researched and cited by default

No search toggle and no research mode to switch on. Rixx researches the live web before it answers a factual question, reads the files you give it, and cites every fact it uses.

The verdict

For researched, cited, finished work, Rixx is the better choice. You type the job and Rixx researches before it answers. There is no search toggle and no mode to switch on. Every fact Rixx takes from the web is cited inline, in the chat answer and inside the deck, workbook or report it delivers.

With Manus, you choose between Chat mode and Agent mode for each task, as of October 2026. Rixx makes that choice for you: Auto sends a quick question to an Answer and bigger work to a Job that plans, researches, analyses and builds files in the background. You can also pick Job yourself.

We make Rixx. Every Manus detail on this page links to Manus's own pages and is as of October 2026.

Research is on by default

This is the difference you feel on the first question. In Rixx you never ask it to search, and there is no research setting to remember. When an answer depends on current facts, such as a price, a policy, a market size or a recent event, Rixx goes to the live web first and cites what it found, sentence by sentence.

The same rule follows the work into files. A Rixx report attributes dated facts where they are made. A deck carries source lines on the slides that use outside data. A spreadsheet notes where its inputs came from. The reader can trace a number back to its source without asking you.

Ask anything

A quick question gets an Answer: researched, cited and back in seconds, with tables and charts in the chat when they help. Follow up in the same chat and Rixx keeps the context. If the question turns out to be a bigger job, Rixx moves it into a Job without you switching anything.

Deep research

A Job plans the research, runs many searches, reads the pages it cites and writes a structured report with sources inline. It works in the background, so you can close the tab and come back to a finished Word or PDF report. Typical jobs: a market sizing, a competitor landscape, a regulatory brief or a literature-style review of a topic.

Wide research

When the job is "profile 30 companies" or "compare 12 tools", Rixx splits it across parallel agents. Each agent researches its share, and Rixx merges the results into one cited table or report. Manus offers parallel subtasks too, through Wide Research on paid plans. In Rixx, wide research is part of every plan, including Free, and the merged result keeps its citations.

Analyse your data and documents

Upload PDFs up to 1,000 pages, Word files, Excel workbooks, PowerPoint decks, CSVs and images, then ask across them. Answers point back to the document. For spreadsheets and CSVs, Rixx uses its own private workspace, with a full terminal and Python, to clean the data, compute figures and draw charts, and it can combine your numbers with web research in the same job.

Make the file

Rixx hands back real Office files:

  • PowerPoint: six themes, native charts and tables you can edit.
  • Excel: working formulas, recalculated and checked.
  • Word and PDF: real headings and styles, sources kept inside.

Before it hands anything back, Rixx renders the pages and slides, reviews them and fixes problems such as overflowing text. One job can deliver several files from the same research, for example a deck, its Excel backup and a one-page memo.
